Scholarships
The UWSA offers over $20,000 in scholarships and bursaries. UWSA scholarships are given out based on academic performance, extracurricular activities or community involvement. All undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, you must be a UWSA member in the Winter 2025 semester or have been one in the Fall 2024 semester. A UWSA member is a full-time undergraduate student. Full-time is defined as taking 4 or 5 courses. This includes JD and MD programs.
Applications for scholarships are now open for the 2024-2025 year. The last day to submit applications is March 23rd, 2025 at 5:00pm.
If you have any questions about scholarships, please email vpfuwsa@uwindsor.ca.

The UWSA scholarships are administered through the Office of the Vice President Finance and Operations (VPFO). The selection process follows these steps:
Initial Review: The UWSA VPFO reviews all submitted applications and shortlists candidates for each respective scholarship.
Committee Evaluation & Ranking: Once the shortlist is finalized, all shortlisted applications are redacted to remove identifying information and provided to a Scholarship Selection Committee composed of 3 to 7 members from the UWSA Board of Directors. The committee will evaluate and rank the applications based on the criteria of each scholarship, and the highest-ranked applicants will be awarded.
Conflict of Interest & Abstention:
If an applicant for a scholarship is also on the selection committee, they will automatically abstain from the selection process for that scholarship.
If any committee member recognizes an applicant’s work despite the redaction, they must abstain from voting on that specific scholarship.
If a conflict of interest arises during the initial review process, the application is forwarded to the UWSA President for review. If the President also has a conflict of interest, another appointed UWSA officer will handle the review.
This process ensures fairness, transparency, and impartiality in scholarship selection.
