President

As the current Vice President Finance and Operations, I have gained the leadership experience, institutional knowledge, and student advocacy skills necessary to serve as President of the UWSA. Over the past year, I have worked closely with full-time UWSA staff and University administration, strengthening financial transparency, student support initiatives, and the overall effectiveness of the UWSA. My experience engaging with student clubs, societies, and individual students has given me a deep understanding of the challenges our student body faces, and the solutions needed to address them.
This year, I introduced a $5,000 Enrichment Fund to support student professional and extracurricular development and nearly tripled the scholarships distributed by the UWSA, significantly increasing financial aid opportunities. Additionally, I played a key role in the signing of the UWindsor x UWSA Palestinian Student Support Agreement, one of the first agreements of its kind in North America, setting a precedent for student advocacy and institutional support.
In my tenure, there has been a 40% increase in club and society funding, the creation of a start-up fund to encourage new clubs on campus, and collaboration with university staff to successfully add 150 student parking spots. I am also working on launching a Sustainability Competition before the end of the fiscal year to provide funding for students committed to sustainability initiatives.
These are only some highlights of the work I have done to improve student life. Beyond these accomplishments, my experience on multiple University and UWSA committees such as the University Senate, the University Resource Allocation Committee, TLC Advisory Board and more has prepared me to take on the responsibilities of President. My work over the past two years, has equipped me with the leadership, knowledge, and dedication necessary to serve as President of the UWSA. I am committed to continuing my efforts to enhance student life, amplify student voices, and ensure our student union delivers meaningful results.

Over the past two years, I have dedicated myself to understanding and addressing student needs. With the UWSA conducting a needs assessment and preparing a campus-wide survey, I am ready to take that data and turn it into real action. I know how to translate student concerns into tangible initiatives, ensuring that every plan coming from the President’s office, in collaboration with the Vice Presidents, directly improves the Lancer experience.
A key priority for me is strengthening academic support on campus. Students deserve an environment where they can succeed, and I will use my position on key university decision- making bodies to push for better resources, improved classroom experiences, and policies that directly benefit them. With my financial experience, I will ensure that budgets are structured to meet student needs and that the university remains accountable for prioritizing students, even during financial challenges.
Beyond campus, I will expand student advocacy at the local and provincial levels, ensuring that issues like accessibility, student equality, and fair tuition policies are addressed. My leadership is driven by a commitment to real change, and through data-driven decision-making and strong advocacy, I will make sure students see tangible results that improve their university experience.

Building and maintaining strong relationships within the UWSA Board, the student body, and the University of Windsor administration is essential to creating a productive and student-focused organization. To foster collaboration within the Board, I will implement a monthly group bonding session to strengthen relationships between Board members and executives, ensuring that we work cohesively as a team. I will also create a Qualtrics link where Board members can provide anonymous feedback to the Executive team, giving them a space to voice concerns or suggestions without hesitation.
To support my executive team, I will conduct quarterly in-depth check-ins with each executive, ensuring they have the guidance and resources needed to achieve their goals. For broader student engagement, I will host Presidential Town Halls every semester and promote my office hours so that students can connect with me directly, voice their concerns, and see that their input leads to real action.
My established relationship with the University of Windsor administration has allowed me to advocate effectively for students, and I will continue to strengthen this partnership to ensure that student voices are not only heard but also understood and implemented in key decisions. By fostering strong internal relationships and ensuring open lines of communication, I will create an environment where collaboration drives meaningful change for students.

The UWSA is such an important part of every Lancer’s experience, often in ways students don’t even realize. It provides essential support for full-time undergraduate students, from advocacy and services to funding opportunities and campus initiatives. I believe it’s crucial for students to not only be aware of the UWSA but also to take full advantage of the resources and opportunities it offers.
I am choosing to run because, after two years in the UWSA, I have gained the knowledge and experience necessary to make a real impact. I want to ensure that student voices are truly heard and that their needs are not just acknowledged, but actively addressed. My goal is to take everything I’ve learned and use it to strengthen the connection between students and their student union, making sure the UWSA continues to work for them in meaningful and tangible ways.
