Board of Governors

  • When I first ran for this position, I ensured safety and sanitation on campus. I am proud to say that I have successfully resolved any queries, concerns or issues that were relayed to me for these topics and beyond, however, I would acknowledge that there is much to be done. Considering the current environment of geopolitics, I believe there is a rise in Antisemitism, Islamophobia and Hinduphobia, and other forms of hate. I believe that such forms of hate have no place on campus and that there should be “defender of students” in the Board of Governors. A representative who takes concerns seriously, easily approachable and whose services remain accessible to all students, remains my ideal.

I wish to explain the role of the Board of Governors to all, increase transparency in Board procedures and how students can relay their concerns to me. I affirm to the student body that I will go to greater lengths at representing your opinions and concerns, than my previous tenure. As a representative, I cannot promise you a utopia, but I can promise you a hope, a hope that we progressively get better as a community.

  • I plan on facilitating positive work relationships with the UWSA team by communicating regularly in regards to the progress and involvement of my initiatives and projects while maintaining law and order. I plan to be a good listener so that I am aware of the team’s relevant plans.

  • UWSA is the student government body of University of Windsor. It is necessary for UWSA to exist in order to represent students' voices and provide services to students to enhance their experience in the university. They provide student jobs and campus services, which is very beneficial for students. UWSA also runs social justice campaigns which are important to build values and learn how to make a difference in the society. Psychologically, it is necessary for UWSA to exist in the university so the students do not feel that they are being governed by only adults, and having a student government provides a hint of independence.

I am the elected Board of Governors Representative since the General Election 2023, who simply wants to rerun for this position. I am the President of the Political Science Association, VP Outreach for SAHSS (2023-24), Director General of University of Windsor Model United Nations (2023-24), Chair of the First-year committee (2022-23), UWSA’s First year representative (2022-23). I am a voting member in the Government and Policy committee as well as the Finance Committee of the UWSA. I was the Youth Administrative manager for Low Entropy, a non-for-profit organisation and Program Facilitator for Youth Empowering Youth, also a non-for-profit organisation. In my highschool, I was part of the Student Government, Youth Action Committee, Mentorship, Grad council, and the Chief Operating Officer of the French Enhancement Centre. I had volunteered in the UBC Geering Up’ Engineering Outreach program as a Junior Instructor. I also worked as a Brand Ambassador for a Marketing Agency.

I know, understand and want to work with you all while keeping in mind the powers and limitations of the Board of Governors.
