Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrates the Launch of Ubike Share
The UWSA held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of its new Ubike Share
service. During the morning of Friday, September 16
Vuk Zubic, VP of Finance of the UWSA kickstarted the event with an introduction. Moussa Hamadani, President of the UWSA provided more information about the service and how it came to be. Beth Ann Prince represented the Alumni Association and spoke of the sponsorship to this program as a member of the Board of Director for the Alumni Association and Chair of the Public Affairs Committee. We also heard a speech from Ryan Flannagan, VP of Student Experience on behalf of the University of Windsor administration.
After the speeches, the ribbon was cut and Moussa took the bikes for a spin!
The event was covered by several media companies. Moussa provided more details on the bike share program. Rides are for members who must be 18 or older. An annual pass costs $15 and all rides under 1 hour are free. After an hour, the rate is $2/hr. The bikes can also be rented at an hourly rate of $3/hr for non-members.
