1. Outline your relevant experience for this position

Throughout my academic journey at UWindsor, I have consistently sought roles and responsibilities that align with the spirit of student representation and welfare. One of my most significant experiences has been mentoring premedical students, helping them navigate both academic and personal challenges. This experience reinforced the importance of peer support in higher education. Additionally, my involvement in research projects, particularly those focusing on student well-being, has provided me with a deeper understanding of the myriad concerns and aspirations of our student community.

2. What specific initiatives and projects would you undertake related to this role?

Recognizing the myriad challenges students face in charting their future course, I aim to introduce professional development workshops, partnering with industry and academic experts. Finally, I am passionate about fostering inclusive campus environment. I will champion a year-long campaign celebrating our diverse student body and nurture a spirit of inclusivity in all university endeavours.

3. How do you plan on facilitating positive work relationships within the UWSA Board, members at large and UWindsor administration?

Positive relationships are the bedrock of any successful organization. For the UWSA Board, fostering such relationships with members at large and the UWindsor administration is of paramount importance. My approach centers on open communication, ensuring that discussions are always transparent, honest, and respectful. This proactive approach will ensure that conflicts are addressed constructively, always keeping the best interests of the student community at the forefront.

4. Describe the importance of the UWSA in your own words

Acting as a crucial bridge between the vast student community and the university’s administrative framework, the association ensures that student-centric perspectives remain central to decision-making processes. It fosters a deep sense of belonging, helping students realize they are a part of a thriving community that genuinely values and champions their interests. Through its initiatives and actions, the UWSA continuously empowers students, giving them a platform to drive positive change, champion rights, and ensure holistic well-being for every member of the university community.
