Shinerama

Shinerama is the largest post secondary fund raiser in Canada and it rasises money for cystic fibrosis research. Shinerama will be doing many fund raisers such as car washes, BBQs, selling candy and Shine Day to help the campaign reach it’s $30,000 goal. If you would like to be a part of this important cause please contact Jen Luu, the Shinerama Coordinator.

Walksafe

A Walksafe Patroller will escort people safely to their destinations in teams of two.

Serve as extra “Eyes and Ears” for Campus Police. Gain valuable volunteer experience. There is a three hour/week commitment. There are also sport’s teams, first aid, and self defense training opportunities.

Walksafe Is actively recruiting for the 2008/2009 calendar year. Applications can be picked up at the UWSA office or on the Walksafe page.

Leave the Pack Behind

Leave the Pack Behind is a program set to eliminate smoking on college campuses. A volunteer for this organization will be involved with spreading awareness of the effects of smoking and persuading people to finally give it up. This volunteer position runs on campus from September to March and you can receive a $50 gift certificate for the Bookstore and a letter of recommendation for your involvement.

CJAM

Want to be more active in your community? Would you like to learn more about radio broadcasting but are unsure of where to start? Why not become a volunteer with our organization! CJAM is looking for qualified individuals to produce and host weekly shows on our airwaves.

We are also always recruiting new contributors to our News Department and translators to assist the Programming Committee!

Students Orienting Students is looking for Volunteers for the 2009–2010 year. SOS helps students transition into University life by organizing and orienting Head Start and Windsor Welcome Week. SOS volunteers gain experiences that are valuable for the work force, giving them the upper edge on competitors.
