Non-Work Study Positions

COORDINATORWALKSAFE

Honorarium offered for position: January – April

The coordinator may appoint a volunteer administrative team. The coordinator may appoint a co-coordinator if he/she wishes, and together they may appoint a volunteer administrative team.

Walksafe exists to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students by providing a service of accompanying them on travels across campus or on their walks home.
The Walksafe Coordinator is responsible for providing a walking patrol program to the University of Windsor campus. He/she is responsible for the supervision of the student volunteers and must be committed and sensitive to the needs for increased awareness of safety on campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
i) Supervise and direct the operation of Walksafe.
ii) Take primary responsibility for the recruitment and development of Walksafe volunteers.
iii) Post and maintain regular office hours.
iv) Facilitate the training of the Walksafe volunteers in conjunction with the Campus Police designate.
v) Design and maintain the patrol schedule and statistical records.
vi) Ensure the appropriate number of patrol teams are available each night.
vii) Ensure the availability of communication equipment, uniform, and other supplies for the efficient operation of the program.
viii) Attend various meetings to present information concerning Walksafe
ix) Promote the services of Walksafe to facilitate public awareness and education concerning issues relevant to the program.
x) Act as a liaison between Walksafe and Campus Police Services.
xi) Conduct meetings with Administrative Team and volunteers to discuss and resolve problems of policy and procedure, and disseminate information.
xii) Report to the Operations Manager and submit a comprehensive report to the Operations Manager at the end of each semester.
xiii) Fulfill any other duties as assigned by the VPF&O and/or Operations Manager.

COORDINATORSTUDENT GROUPS

Honorarium offered for position: January –April

The Groups coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the UWSA club and society system and that decisions of the Board are clearly communicated to those affected and are implemented.

Specific Accountabilities

i) Administer ratification for all clubs and societies
ii) Process file and organize all paper work on groups
iii) Ensure that all groups have access to and are aware of all current policies and procedures.
iv) Act as liaison between the clubs and UWSA
v) Work with any necessary campus offices to supply information about various groups and facilitate group activities and room bookings
vi) Organize and run club days and the Club Summit
vii) Administer club and society banking as assigned by the VPFO
viii) Post and maintain regular office hours

Work Study Position

You MUST qualify for workstudy to apply for any of the positions listed under the “Work Study Positions”

Research and Campaigns Officer

Responsibilities of the Research and Campaigns Officer:
* Responsible for conducting research and promoting national, provincial and local campaigns
* Online publishing of relevant research and other details, including the maintenance of several Facebook groups
* Potentially design campaign materials, including posters and handouts
* Research on the policies affecting students
Approx. 10 -24h per week

Qualifications
* General knowledge of the UWSA’s governing documents
* Must be energetic, dynamic and willing to personally engage with students
* Relevant experience in media or promotions an asset
* General familiarity with Senate By-Laws 31, 33 and 51, which outline the rights of students on our campus (training will be provided to the new hires)
* Computer skills in design and layout

Transit Campaign Researcher

Specific Duties:
* Conducting background research on past universal bus pass referenda
* Conducting research in regard to the feasibility of universal bus pass implementation at the University of Windsor
* Working with the Office of Institutional Analysis
* Working with the Environmental Committee for the University;
Approx 5–10h per week

Qualifications
* Dedicated hard working student
* Basic Skills in word and excel
