About AfroFest
The African Diaspora Festival (AfroFest) is a week-long celebration that commemorates the rich history of Africa and the contributions of its people throughout the world. February 2010 marks the festival’s fifth anniversary and it is our goal to reach new heights by enhancing previous programs and incorporating new ones. This year AfroFest is scheduled to take place during the week of February 1st- 7th, 2010.
Our Mission
Our aim is to make the University of Windsor the home of African Heritage Month Celebrations for the city of Windsor and surrounding communities, as well as to increase leadership among the University’s students. As we are an institution of learning, we acknowledge that it is our responsibility to provide cultural and educational programming that will not only entertain, but also enlighten the campus community and promote cultural exchange. We expect to host an estimated 3,500 participants throughout the course of this year’s festival.
